2017 Summer Professional Mainstage Season
From the country's most beloved playwright, Neil Simon. Andy and Norman are two earnest young men using their apartment as a publishing office for a "protest" magazine in San Francisco. Sophie, an Olympic swimmer and all-American girl, moves into another apartment on the same floor. Love and politics blend delightfully in a bubbling series of funny happenings.
It's the summer of 1875, Mary Todd Lincoln resides in an insane asylum, sent there by her only living son. Her progressive friend Myra Braswell arrives to help Mary gain her release by exposing the injustices of her trial. But Myra's motives and Mary's sanity are both up for debate, as they grapple with their pasts and their perceptions of freedom and womanhood.
Set in a remote chalet located in the Swiss Alps, best-selling author, Patricia Highsmith (Strangers on a Train, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Ripley's Game) is spending her final years as a recluse. Which is quite alright with her, since she's not very social, talks like a sailor, and frankly, doesn't like people very much. Of course, when a mysterious young man shows up at her door claiming to be from her publishing house, things get, shall we say… interesting. Is she willing to write one final chapter involving Tom Ripley, and if so, can she survive what she creates?
Lots of laughs are joined by plenty of suspense. In a remote countryside estate in Connecticut, Jack Brooks, one of the most accomplished and eccentric painters of his generation, awaits the arrival of his art dealer. But the visit is not a standard one, for Jack feels wronged, and he is intending to kill the man...But then again, someone wants kill Jack...and someone wants to kill Jack's wife. And of course ...the maid (There's always a maid).
